Lourdes Teacher named Teacher of the Year for the Diocese of Richmond

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is so excited to announce that Mrs. Laura Hall has been selected for an Excellence in Catholic Education award  by the Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Richmond.

Laura has taught middle school science at Lourdes since 1990. She challenges our students to live out our discipleship traits and give the best of themselves every day, as she herself demonstrates through her service as a teacher representative on the PTO and COVID Safety team.

Laura lives in Mechanicsville, where she raised her daughter and lives with her husband. One of her favorite things to do is create mosaics and eat sashimi… thought not necessarily at the same time. Her first job was as a lifeguard and she has ridden horses all her life.  She graduated from VCU and has always loved science. The best time of the school day is in the morning when students come into the hall.  She hopes they will love life and to share what they learn with others. She most loves when she can teach the children of her former students.

The Excellence in Catholic Education awards honor teachers who represent the best in Catholic teaching in each region and across the diocese. Administrators and colleagues at each school selected one teacher to be recognized based on their exceptional commitment to Catholic education through their leadership and service to their students, parents, colleagues, parishes and school communities.

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Hall on her very well-deserved award!
