Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is pleased to announce that Carey Jacobsen has been named principal beginning in July 2021.

Mrs. Jacobsen is a very familiar face to Lourdes, as she is currently the school’s Assistant Principal. She will replace George Elliott, who has served as Interim Principal during the 2020-21 school year.

Mrs. Jacobsen holds 21 years of educational experience as a math teacher and administrator and is completing her doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at Virginia Tech with a projected graduation of this May. During her five-year tenure as Assistant Principal, Mrs. Jacobsen facilitated professional development opportunities for staff, served as the facilities manager, and developed the master schedule among many other duties.

Upon acceptance of her new position, Mrs. Jacobsen stated, “It has been my honor and privilege to serve the Lourdes community for the past 20 years as a teacher and assistant principal, and I look forward to continuing my service in this community in this new role.  I ask for and appreciate prayers for our school and community as we conclude this school year and look forward to a new one.”

Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Jacobsen on her new position!
